The son of the judge

My dear children, I am writing this to you so that you will not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate who pleads our case before the Father. He is Jesus Christ, the one who is truly righteous. He himself is the sacrifice that atones for our sins—and not only our sins but the sins of all the world. 1 John 2:1-2 NLT

How unnerving it is to be accused of anything, specially if you are guilty of what you are being accused of. It feels like you are at the mercy of those that are surrounding you. Everything you have done is on display and you need to defend your case. It is imperative that you explain what happened because consequences will be following if you are guilty, and you know you deserve it.

The same holds true for us. We have been accused by the world, and your own sins got you trapped. It seemed good at the time to do what you did, it felt right but it payed you back wrong and now you are facing judgement. At our side is Jesus, our brother who happens to also be our lawyer. An advocate who defends our case to the Judge.

So He stands before the Judge and the first thing he does without speaking a word, is that he shows his pierced hands, he goes on to lift his garment and shows his wounded side, and then inclines himself to take off his sandals and show his tortured feet. And then an interesting development occurs; Jesus for the first time opens his mouth and says, “Father”. Wait a minute, that means that Jesus is the son of the judge! Our brother is at our side defending our case, that the wrong we have done, has been amended. Bail has been placed for us in the cross enough for any crime and fault we have ever done.

And then the judge in an unprecedented move, without even hearing the accusers arguments, stands up and says, “Your sins are forgiven” and then it is heard the resound of his gavel.

It is refreshing to know that you will win a battle or a circumstance because He, Jesus, already has paid the ransom. He already paid the bail needed to set you free. No word will be needed to be said by our a lawyer, the evidence is overwhelming, and as Peter said: “He did not retaliate when he was insulted, nor threaten revenge when he suffered. He left his case in the hands of God, who always judges fairly” because he knew that the Judge, His Father, your Father, is a just judge and would confirm that the debt has been covered.

And you will walk out in front of your accuser with a redeemed heart, confident, grateful and relieved, knowing that no fault has been found in you. And with his hand over your shoulder by your side is the son of the Judge.

“BREATHE expectantly, LIVE confidently and MOVE Boldly”

El hijo del juez

Mis queridos hijos, les escribo estas cosas, para que no pequen; pero si alguno peca, tenemos un abogado que defiende nuestro caso ante el Padre. Es Jesucristo, el que es verdaderamente justo. Él mismo es el sacrificio que pagó por nuestros pecados, y no sólo los nuestros sino también los de todo el mundo. 1 Juan 2:1-2

Qué desconcertante es que se te acuse de algo, especialmente si eres culpable de lo que se te imputa. Se siente como si estuvieras a merced de los que te rodean. Todo lo que has hecho está al descubierto y necesitas defender tu causa. Es imperativo que expliques lo que ocurrió porque habrá consecuencias si se encuentra que eres culpable, y sabrás que lo mereces.

Lo mismo es cierto para nosotros. El mundo nos ha acusado, y tus propios pecados te tienen atrapado. Lo que hiciste parecía bueno a la hora de hacerlo, se sentía bien pero el resultado pagó mal y ahora estás enfrentando el juicio. Jesús está a nuestro lado, nuestro hermano, quien también es nuestro abogado. Un abogado que defiende nuestro caso ante el Juez.

Así que, Él se para ante el Juez y lo primero que hace, sin decir una palabra, es mostrar sus manos traspasadas; se levanta su ropa y muestra su lado herido, y luego se inclina para quitarse las sandalias y mostrar sus pies torturados. Y entonces, ocurre algo interesante, Jesús por primera vez abre su boca y dice: “Padre”. ¡Espera un minuto, esto significa que Jesús es el hijo del Juez! Nuestro hermano está a nuestro lado defendiendo nuestro caso, y el mal que hemos hecho ha sido enmendado. La fianza fue puesta en la cruz por nosotros la cual es suficiente para cualquier delito y culpa que hayamos hecho.

Y entonces el juez en una decisión sin precedentes, sin siquiera escuchar los argumentos del acusador, se levanta y dice: “Tus pecados te son perdonados”, y entonces se escucha el resonar de su mallete.

Es refrescante saber que se ganará la batalla o la circunstancia porque Él, Jesús, ya pagó el rescate. Él ya pagó la fianza necesaria para hacerte libre. Nuestro abogado no tuvo que decir ni una palabra, la evidencia es abrumadora, y como Pedro dijo: No respondía cuando lo insultaban ni amenazaba con vengarse cuando sufría. Dejaba su causa en manos de Dios, quien siempre juzga con justicia porque sabía que el juez, su Padre, tu Padre, es un juez justo y confirmaría que la deuda había sido cubierta.

Y caminarás en frente de tu acusador con un corazón redimido, confiado, agradecido y aliviado, sabiendo que ninguna culpa se ha encontrado en ti. Y con la mano sobre tu hombro a tu lado está, el Hijo del Juez.

“RESPIRA con expectación, VIVE con confianza y MUÉVETE con valentía”
