A review

This has been a year of many changes. A year that has challenged many, myself included. I have also been privileged to see many of these transformations first hand; lives stretched, inspired and changed. And by having the unmerited opportunity to witness many of them, I experienced some transformation myself. I have had the incredible opportunity to inspire and challenge many talented individuals. Men and women that have empire mindsets within themselves and yet have to discover the depth and extent of them. I have seen the immeasurable works of God in their lives; for that I’m thankful.

Like my friend and his entire family that stepped up to the plate and filled the gap for children’s in need, changing the future for many. Or an unassuming individual that has elevated his life to one that inspires many with his example of humbleness and the amazing favor of God over him; an invisible leader. The couple that has dreamt of changing those that have nothing and lift their standard of living, transforming trash into treasure. And how can you measure witnessing a giant awakened and unleashed in a couple that is changing the way church is done and reaping innumerable changed lives? I have also seen the birth of many dreams and the impact of uplifting words in the life of countless individuals. What about the mother that stayed home to nurture and dedicate herself to her family and is transforming her talent into her calling; a life changing performance. And many countless more that could fill pages upon pages of real life -everyday individuals- inspiration. This reminds me about Psalm 8:5. “Yet you made them only a little lower than God and crowned them with glory and honor.”, in it the psalmist is referring to mankind. In the passage, the term God is referred as Elohim in the hebrew, which means the unalculated power of the trinity of God. These individuals have tapped, if just a tad, at what God has deposited in them; and from where I have been watching, the future looks is incredibly bright.

This has been a rare opportunity that I have been given. This has also been a rare year; in a good way. I have seen this transformation in my wife, my son and my daughter. For this and for more I thank all of you that had giving me the honor to be part of your lives. But be certain that the one that has been transformed and changed the most, has been me, and for that I praise God.

This is just the beginning. With every “Canlet” made, for every child sponsored, for every youngster awaken, for every leader inspired, for every horizon opened for others, for every soul saved, for every ornament made, and for many more things that escape my mind or my imagination, these individuals are making a dent in the universe, and so can you. It is not to late, it’s actually the right time for you to stand up for what you believe and act. Remember Paul’s words “So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.”

These men and women have all been “Dreamspired, and for that I tip my hat to them, they are all amazing and so are you. God has deposited in your DNA, seeds of greatness and it is your duty to unleash them. So BREATHE expectantly, LIVE confidently and MOVE boldly. I finish by saying, the words in Philippians that are true for all of us: “And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.”. See you at the top.

Un repaso

by DP

A message for men

by DP

“Now therefore, fear the Lord, serve Him in sincerity and in truth, and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the River and in Egypt. Serve the Lord! And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:14-15

“Every man has a battle to fight and a beauty to rescue” These were the words of John Eldredge when he took center stage at a conference I attended in 2004. It was a great and an inspiring message. In the past weeks my family and I saw the movie Courageous which stirred many of the same emotions I felt with John’s exposition a couple of years ago.

Since that moment, I find myself wrestling with the need of “quiet time”, some alone time, and by the same token, in need of “together” time too. An oxymoron, I know, but that is how I felt. “Quiet time” to ponder my thoughts, and “together” time to share my heart with my wife, my son and my daughter. Moments that matter. I feel that time is running faster than It takes for me to accomplish what is in my heart. There is an awakening inside for the greater truths that I should have been living long time ago. And synthesizing John’s talk several years ago; Our story is a story of greatness.

We all have this sense of greatness inside. Of being the redeeming knight, the hero and warrior that stands for truth and crushes evil. The man that stands up to the challenge and knows deep inside the values that need to be uphold, and he does so without second guessing. The sea of thoughts assault the mind and overwhelms the soul, as the search goes on for a verse, a passage or a word that might give it hope, strength, comfort and guidance. We want an answer that will appease the soul and tell it that everything will be ok. That we will be able to fulfill the dreams and desires that are rooted in the heart; greatness.

God created us to feel this way, but more importantly to act this way. It doesn’t matter where in life you are right now, you can step up to the challenge and be the man you were called to be. Wether you have a family or not, fulfill your story. And in order to achieve greatness, there will be need to be violent, to fight and be forceful against the menacing forces that are surrounding those we have been entrusted. That fight will be fought by standing firm on our knees. To stand unafraid of the future, to leave the sidelines and embrace life.

As the theme song for this movie states, “May the watchers become warriors, Let the men of God arise”, we are called to do the same as Joshua boldly spoke to the men of Israel, “…But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord”. So today make it your resolution, wherever you are in life today, to take back what is yours, to boldly proclaim that you will lead and not follow, that you will protect and not fear. That the time of idleness is over and that your legacy will not be the same, because you decided to make a dent in the universe and to finish well.

I completely agree with the song when it states, “The only way you’ll ever stand is on your knees with lifted hands”. Change the world, lead to greatness.

Dreamspired!

by DP

Humanly speaking, it is impossible, but not with God: Everything is possible with God Mark 10:27 NLT

This expression was given by Jesus after telling his disciples that is was easier to pass a camel through the eye of a needle than a rich man to enter the kingdom of God, so they asked, who then could be saved? Jesus pressed on to say and assured that our reward would be great in this life and the one to come. But this expression states a powerful truth. Everything is possible with God.

Dreams, inspiration, restoration, influence, provision, and many more themes are those that have defined my life and perhaps yours. Very bright and clear moments and many dark and dull days. I will not say that my experience is better or worse than yours. To me, the dark days where very dark and the bright ones were very bright. But it was those moments in which I was pressed more that defined how I think and how I live.

In many ways our lives are the same; yours and mine. We want to dream and we want to be inspired. Dream bigger things and be inspired to pursue and live those dreams. Dreams bigger than ourselves, and bigger than life! And then to all us, life happens. And we kill our dreams in the name of reality, as we often call it. But what really has happened is that life has hurt us and has stung us. We have been stung with the venom of fear and we don’t have or can’t find the antidote. Fear is irrational, it’s paralyzing and it’s demeaning. It makes you do and not do things at the same time. It makes you run away from your destiny making safe decisions that will not inflict any more fear or hurt and in doing so it also makes you not do what you were born to be.

Dreaming will open the door for possibilities. It will open the doors of your heart in ways that will make you vulnerable. And we don’t like to feel that way. We want to feel in control. And if we are open enough, we would agree with one simple truth: control is an illusion we have created to shield our fear.

I will admit it, dreaming is not safe. But dreaming is in all of us, and you have to admit that.Is it possible to dream and to live inspired in spite of everything? I believe so. I know so, I have lived my life that way. And while I say that, I will tell you that the experiences I mentioned before have crafted the story of my life and I believe yours too, in a way that will awaken the dreams for a better life and the inspiration to walk through the dark and dull moments and the renewed dreams for the bright and clear ones. They have been birthed in many ways and in many of those moments I mentioned. Pressing moments.

Everything can be taken away from you, but not your dreams. I trust you will find the inspiration to achieve them. Dream and be inspired; thus the word Dreamspired! These are powerful words, not because I wrote them, but because they come from the source of all things, God Almighty himself. His word is powerful and changes our lives, even when we won’t admit it at times. Your vision should never be limited to who you are or what you think you can do. So be prepared to dream and to be inspired. Jesus said it and affirmed it, Everything is possible with God.

Think big, think higher, Live Dreamspired!

Whom are you listening to?

by DP

When I heard your greeting, the baby in my womb jumped for joy. Luke 1:44

Mary had gone to visit Elizabeth days after she had received the news from the angel that she would conceive. A child that would be the son of God and that His kingdom would be like no other. Elizabeth was in her old age and had also become pregnant. The story further says that the people had signaled Elizabeth as barren and in that time that was seen as a punishment from God. At her arrival, Mary greeted Elizabeth, and at the sound of Mary’s voice, Elizabeth’s baby jumped in her womb and she was filled with the Holy Spirit. A greeting like no other. A memorable moment, an amazing story!

We all need people like this in our life. You need to be surrounded with people that will reinforce your most inner dreams. When your dreams are fading and when they seem to be silent, forgotten, distant or even impossible, you need people that will speak to the core of what has been conceived in you and make it jump, move and become alive. Your need people that at the sound of their voice, life and hope and new beginnings are stirred up within you. People that have in them the promise themselves and will build yours even with their greeting. People that celebrate your successes. People that have an empire mindset and will get in accord with you to pray with, to sustain you and to rejoice with you. People that speak the word of the living God to your spirit. The only word that can bring alive anything that is dead, even barren wombs that have rejected by society. The word of the Almighty God. The word of the same God that planted in your spirit that dream that promise for which you have been waiting and will bring forth in unexpected ways.

Who do you surround yourself with? Stay away from those that don’t speak life to you. Those that will talk you down or talk you out of your dream. That dream has been conceived right from God’s heart, so get rid of those naysayers. You need to have people that will stir up what is growing inside of you. People that when you talk to them will inspire and impulse you to your purpose. These are the people that will stir up all of that is being formed in your spirit and will change your destiny.

Choose well who talks into your life. If your spirit stirs up, if your face turns to God, if what you hear makes you want to be closer to the Creator, it’s a good voice. A voice that will draw attention to the One, not to the voice itself.

“Because the people that you listen to, are a preview of the future you.” – Jeff Henderson

Don’t kill your dreams

“Don’t kill your dreams in the name of reality. Think BIG, Think Higher, Live Dreamspired” – DP

No place for playing it safe

by DP

Then he who had received the five talents went and traded with them, and made another five talents. And likewise he who had received two gained two more also. But he who had received one went and dug in the ground, and hid his lord’s money. Matthew 25:16-18

Jesus was referring to his disciples the parable of the talents. A businessman had left his money for his servants to take care of it. They were given what in today’s currency would be the equivalent of $150,000.00 per talent. Quite an amount of money! Two of them took risks. Big risks! They traded and multiplied what was given to them, but the last one that had only one talent, hid it and played it safe. The parable goes on to say that when the master came and requested a report, the first two could account of their dealings and outcome and they where praised and rewarded, but the last one just returned what he had been given, without even interest and he was reprimanded and punished; even what he had been given, was taken away from him.

You and I have been given much and we will have to give an account for it. What will you say when it is requested from you? What will your report be? The parable has many profound teachings, but one that stands out is that God wants us to take risks, to be bold, audacious and firm. He made our life to be an adventure and for it to reflect his character. God seeks fruit in our lives, He expects a return of all he has created. He is the definition of fruitfulness. He created everything out of nothing and has made us to his image and resemblance.

This is not the time to play it safe, this is not the time for that. He has given you talents and gifts that are to be used and multiplied. Don’t be afraid to undertake new challenges and to use those gifts and talents that God has entrusted you to the fullest. Yes, you could even feel uneasy because everything is not “just right”, but it might be your desire for control everything, and in doing so, you could miss one of the greatest moments in your life. Ask God for his direction and your paths will be directed. Dream big, pray hard, be bold and audacious.

You don’t want to live a should’a, could’a, would’a life and die. Better to try and fail, that not to try at all. This might be your greatest moment, so there is no place for playing it safe.

The coat of many colors

by DP

But they saw him in the distance, and before he reached them, they plotted to kill him. Genesis 37:18

Joseph was on his way to see his brothers. It turned out to be the last day he would see them for many more years to come. They sold him to the Ishmaelites and in turn he was sold to the egyptians. He was sold because he had been favored by their father, and they became jealous of him. His father had made him a coat of many colors; he had been favored by the father and it showed.

When you are favored by God, it will be shown. When you wear the coat of many colors, God’s favor, you will stand out from the crowd. When you dream big dreams, you stand out from everybody else. Dreamers are ultimately defined by what they stand for and are known more by what they dream than from who they are. Dreamers can be seen from a distance. Dreamers are feared. Safe people are intimidated by dreamers. Joseph’s brothers saw him from a distance and plotted against him. Be certain that because of what you stand for, by what you represent, you might be plotted against, shunned and attacked. But dreamers don’t back down and certainly dreamers don’t quit.

Dreamers are a special kind of people. They see opportunities where everybody else sees facts. They see cities when everybody else sees empty land. They see what can be, instead of what currently is. They are dangerous, because limitations are not a threat to them. Limitations become not an obstacle or a stumbling block to their progress, but a fuel that makes the winning even sweeter.

When God favors you, you will stand out and probably will not fit in. Congratulations you have the coat of many colors. When God favors you, you will make people around you uncomfortable because they cannot understand why you and not them. When God favors you, their mind cannot fathom the ideas that come out from your mouth. When they hear them they just benchmark them to their own experiences, and mock them. They size them up against to what, in their mindset, is possible to accomplish. When you are a dreamer, you are not afraid to try. Because even if you try and fail, you learn a new way that will not achieve the dream, a path that will not be used again, so you still come closer to your destiny. Dreamers are the head and not the tail.

The world we live in, is formulated by dreams of men and women that dared to think different. To think possible what to them was new and probably impossible in the eyes of other people. When you dream God’s dream for your life and walk in it, you will wear God’s favor; and it will be apparent. People might plot to kill your dream, but it won’t be possible, you have been favored.

It might not be absent of difficulties, but always remember that you are wearing the coat of many colors.
