For I will defend this city, to save it, … Isaiah 37:35
King Hezekiah had received bad news that Sennacherib, king of Assyria would destroy the city of Jerusalem. In fact, this king had sent messengers to make everybody nervous. They were spreading news of all that had happened to other cities that had confronted them. All destroyed. They even said. “Look! You have heard what the kings of Assyria have done to all lands by utterly destroying them; and shall you be delivered?”. In other words, do you really think you have a chance?
They were in such despair that the pregnant women were at the point to give birth, but the scripture says they had no strength to bring the children forth. They did not had the desire to birth their child into what they thought was certain death. They were feeling hopeless, everything around them screamed, were are finished.
In middle of all this king Hezekiah, received a word from the Lord that he would defend the city, and that was all he needed to hear. The scripture says that the angel of the Lord went out into the camp of the Assyrians and killed one hundred and eighty-five thousand: and when they woke up all they say was dead bodies. Sennacherib fled. King Hezekiah did not move a muscle, the Lord had defended the city.
We often let our sight blind our vision, and the two are very different. Sight will always limit you, what you are able to see is what determines who, what and where you are or could possibly be. Vision is a whole different story, vision is limitless. And when your vision is supported with a word from God, you don’t have to fear anything.
Are you facing today what seems to be certain failure? Is your heart in despair? Is your economic situation in jeopardy? Is your sight blinding your vision? Let me remind you that before the child is born, the pain is greater. So be strong, set forth your child, you are at the point to give birth. He has promised that by the same way the enemies came, they will return.
His word is clear, He will defend the city, and He will defend you!

Porque yo ampararé a esta ciudad para salvarla,… Isaías 37:35
El rey Ezequías había recibido malas noticias de que Senaquerib, rey de Asiria, destruiría la ciudad de Jerusalén. De hecho, este rey envió los mensajeros para poner a todos nerviosos. Éstos estaban diseminando noticias de todo lo sucedido a las otras ciudades que los confrontaron. Todas ellas fueron destruidas. Ellos aún les decían, “He aquí que tú oíste lo que han hecho los reyes de Asiria a todas las tierras, que las destruyeron; ¿Y escaparás tú?”. En otras palabras, ¿Crees tú que tienes alguna oportunidad?
Estaban en tal desesperación que las mujeres que estaban a punto de dar a luz, no tenían fuerzas para hacerlo. No tenían el deseo de traer a sus hijos, a lo que pensaban era la muerte segura. Se sentían desesperanzadas, todo a su alrededor les gritaba, estamos terminados.
En medio de todo esto el rey Ezequías recibió una palabra del Señor que Él defendería la ciudad, y eso era todo lo que necesitaba escuchar. La escritura dice que el ángel del Señor fue al campo de los asirios y mató a ciento ochenta y cinco mil; y cuando despertaron todo lo que veían era cuerpos muertos. Senaquerib huyó. El rey Ezequías no movió ni un músculo, El Señor había defendido la ciudad.
Muchas veces dejamos que nuestra vista, nuble nuestra visión, y ambas son muy diferentes. Nuestra vista siempre nos limita; lo que podemos ver es lo que determina quién, qué y dónde estamos o pudiéramos estar. La visión es otra historia totalmente diferente, la visión es ilimitada. Cuando tu visión se apoya en una palabra de Dios, no tienes que temerle a nada.
¿Estás enfrentando lo que parece un fracaso seguro? ¿Está tu corazón desesperado? ¿Está tu condición económica en peligro? ¿Está tu vista nublando tu visión? Permíteme recordarte que antes que un niño nazca, el dolor es mayor. Así es que, se fuerte, empuja fuerte, estás a punto de dar a luz. Él ha prometido que por el mismo camino que llegaron lo enemigos, regresarán.
Su palabra es clara, Él defenderá la ciudad, y Él te defenderá a ti!
