Este es un concepto, que de por sí suena muy seco para nuestros oídos. En realidad, se siente a veces como un freno de automóvil, pensamos que nos está retrasando. Hablar sobre proceso nos hace sentir dolor aún cuando no se ha pasado por el o ni siquiera empezado.

Somos inspirados por las historias que evocan los logros humanos. Las que presentan un perdedor que emerge triunfante. O aquellos en los que una inmensa injusticia ha sido hecha y que en última instancia es redimida. Todos hemos oído hablar de ellos. Hombres y mujeres como Rosa Parks, que adoptó una postura que comenzó un movimiento de derechos civiles. Eric Liddle, quien ganó los Juegos Olímpicos en una carrera para la cual no había entrenado , después de negarse a correr en un día considerado como sagrado para sus creencias. José, que fue ascendido a segundo en el mando directo desde las mazmorras. ¿Qué con el rey David, que tuvo que correr durante años después de haber sido ungido como rey, caminando con un grupo de rechazados como su ejército. Podríamos mencionar cientos de historias conocidas y desconocidas que reavivarían la chispa de la creatividad, el valor y la tenacidad en nosotros. Tienen muchas cosas en común, pero la que a menudo nos no olvidamos, es proceso.

Para llegar a ese punto de inflexión, para estar equipado con las herramientas necesarias para la tarea a mano, todos se sometieron a un proceso que les dio la capacidad y el carácter para llevar a cabo y transformar la situación que se encontraban. La creación misma, sufrió una transformación que tomó tiempo. Así es la vida, un proceso. El mero crecimiento y transformación que tiene lugar en el vientre de una mujer, y el tiempo necesario para que el niño se desarrolle hasta que llegue a su termino y últimamente el nacimiento, es un proceso. Cuando esa etapa termina, una nueva comienza. Y es una metáfora maravillosa a utilizar para describir proceso.

También es cierto para ti. Podría ser que estás en las primeras etapas de tu situación y no ves ninguna razón por la cual estás en medio de un drama interminable que consume cada segundo de tu vida el pensamiento. Una injusticia que está ocurriendo y no se puede ver la salida o el razonamiento para ello. Se hace difícil entender que grandes sueños se están acumulando en tu interior, pero tu realidad es tan diferente y todo te grita que mates esos sueños. Puede ser que sea tan personal, que un gran dolor es lo que sólo conoces como una forma de vida. Pero, ¿considerarías una postura diferente? ¿Te darías a ti mismo una nueva oportunidad? Puede ser que sea el proceso que Dios está usando para reformar tu pensamiento, tu carácter y tu actitud, para que cuando llegue el momento, se exprese la grandeza para lo que has sido creado.

Así que no rechaces el proceso, abrázalo, deja que te enseñe. Míralo desde otro ángulo, porque todas las cosas ayudan a bien para aquellos que aman a Dios. Reconozco que no sé cuál es su situación, lo difícil o complicado que pueda ser. Pero el proceso no es nuestro enemigo, puede ser nuestro aliado y entonces podrás ver tu empleo actual, tu situación familiar, un negocio, el lugar donde vives, tu dolor, desde una perspectiva diferente y no estar amargado, sino agradecido.

Y recuerda siempre que Dios te ama y debemos ver nuestra situación a través de los ojos de Dios y no a Dios a través nuestra situación. Porque simplemente eso podría ser lo único que cambiará tu vida; el proceso.

A true friend

A friend loves at all times, And a brother is born for adversity. – Proverbs 17:17 NKJV

The proverb states it clearly, a friend loves at all times. Not only on the good, plentiful and drama free times, but in the stressful, shameful and shunning moments. The times when everyplace we look at, the only thing we see is everybody’s back walking away from us. It is in those bleak, gray and shady moments in which we don’t know or understand all of the facts, that true friendship flourishes.

It is a privilege to be a true friend. It requires character, love and an unyielding commitment to remain a friend. A friend is needed the most in the times when anguish and finger pointing is the order of the day. When being associated, equates to staining your image, your judgement, and your possibilities.

But being a friend is much more. It is opening your heart to the spirit of love, compassion, and of a better future. It is knowing that maybe showing support may bring consequences, but in spite of them, you still do it. Being a friend is not ignoring the truth, but in spite of the truth, you love, you care, and you lift another soul. You help them amend their life. You make them dream, and hope again. Being a friend, is becoming vulnerable.

Being a friend is guiding, restoring, and lifting someone else that has drifted, that has been broken and has fallen. Being a friend is always remembering that it could be you seeking for friendship, when the colors of the world turn gray and the smiles of men, turn to stone cold walls.

Being a true friend, is very powerful. You get to witness the transformation of a shunned life, to a shinning star. You get to see the love of God transforming not only the recipient of your friendship, but also your own life.

Being a friend, is loving yourself. We should all learn how to be, a true friend.

Un verdadero amigo

En todo tiempo ama el amigo, Y es como un hermano en tiempo de angustia. – Proverbios 17:17 RV60

El proverbio lo dice claramente, un amigo ama en todo momento. No sólo en los buenos tiempos, de abundancia y sin drama, pero en los momentos estresantes, vergonzosos y de rechazo. Los tiempos en que cualquier lugar que nos fijamos lo único que vemos es a todo el mundo dando la espalda alejándose de nosotros. Es en esos momentos desolados, grises y sombríos en los que no se conocen o entienden todos los hechos, que florece la verdadera amistad.

Es un privilegio ser un verdadero amigo. Se requiere carácter, amor y un compromiso inquebrantable de seguir siéndolo. Un amigo es más necesario en los tiempos en que la angustia y el dedo señalador son el orden del día; cuando estar asociado, equivale a manchar tu imagen, tu buen juicio y tus posibilidades.

Pero ser amigo es mucho más. Es abrir tu corazón al espíritu de amor, de compasión y de un futuro mejor. Es saber que tal vez mostrando apoyo puede traer consecuencias, pero a pesar de ello, lo haces. Ser amigo, no es ignorar la verdad, pero a pesar de la verdad, amar, levantar e importarte la vida de otro. Le ayudas a enmendar su vida. Haces que sueñe, y tenga esperanza otra vez. Ser amigo, es hacerte vulnerable.

Ser amigo es guiar, restaurar y levantar a alguien que se ha desviado, que ha sido quebrantado y ha caído. Ser amigo, es recordar que podrías ser tú quién busque la amistad, cuando los colores del mundo se tornan grises y las sonrisas de los hombres se tornan en frías paredes de piedra.

Ser un verdadero amigo, es muy poderoso. Tienes la oportunidad de presenciar cómo una vida rechazada se transforma en una estrella resplandeciente. Tienes la oportunidad de ver el amor de Dios que transforma no sólo el receptor de tu amistad, sino también tu propia vida.

Ser amigo, es amarte a ti mismo. Todos deberíamos aprender a ser un verdadero amigo.

Don’t be anxious

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. – Philippians 4:6

Restlessness: That feeling of asphyxiating anxiety that seems not to end. Marked by a lack of quiet, repose, or rest; Not able to rest, relax, or be still. It is an overwhelming feeling that takes over your entire body and mental functions and seems to overpower every inch of our being. It happens, sometimes more than we want to admit. And in silence we are prisoners of our own thoughts and an easy prey to our circumstances. We need structure, guidance and wisdom.

Paul, had his share of these feelings. At the time of writing this letter to the Philippians, he was in house arrest for two years. A situation that limited his mobility, his contact with the world and to the naked eye, the influence he could have. But from there he wrote this letter where he instilled among other things the importance of being cool, calm, and collected and changed the world. He clearly stated, Do not be anxious about anything, and anything means anything.

One might say, yeah it’s easier said than done, but Paul was talking about his own experience and sharing with the Philippians the way to overcome. We are presented with many choices every day. Sometimes choices that are imposed upon us and we must decide. The counsel is that in every situation we should present them in prayer and with thanksgiving to our God. We are reminded that, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose” , so our trust should remain in His promises.

And it all comes down precisely to that, trust. We can easily be distracted by what surrounds and by what happens to us daily. The unexpected phone call, or reaction, a poor choice of words, and many other exogenous events that tend to rattle our trust in God’s promises. So when you are presented again with anxiety, restlessness and you start to feel overpowered, remember the words said the Paul; Do not be anxious about anything and remember that God’s plans for your life are good and bright and wonderful. Jesus made it clear that he had overcame every situation for us and that nothing would harm us.

Every situation has the capacity to promote you to a better place. Be cool, calm and collected, trust God and don’t be anxious.
