Paul was writing to the Romans, and in this chapter he punctuates how to live in the spirit. He made contrasts of his own life, stating that the afflictions of the present time are not comparable to glory to come, which will manifest in due time. A contrast filled chapter. A sobering recount of the true situations of this life and our human condition. But in spite of that, and in spite of recognizing our flaws and afflictions, Paul makes a statement: Who can ever be against us?
This to me is an expression with an attitude. If God is for us who or what can stand against us? There is nothing that could stop us moving forward. There is no circumstance that will slow us down. Neither sickness nor lack, neither tribulation nor anguish, neither the present time nor the times to come, neither the high nor the profound nor any other created thing will separate us from God. Nothing will stop us from fulfilling our destiny.
Are you being stalled? Are you in a crossroad? Is your purpose being questioned and attacked? Is your dream being ridiculed by your resources? Be certain today, that nothing will ever stop you if our God is for you. He turned water into wine, he stood up to the scribes and pharisees, resurrected Lazarus from the dead, he conquered sickness and opened the eyes of the blind. He conquered death, sin and fear, so who could ever in it’s right mind even think to stop us? Shout it out loud, WHO?
In the book of Psalms 8:5, there is a declaration that says that we were created a little lower than Elohim. In essence a little lower than himself. Elohim means “the uncalculated power of God”. So why have we chosen to live a lesser life? If he has created us to his image, why would we be afraid to dream Big, to dare to do what He has birthed in our hearts to do? To go to places no one else has gone before, to do what has not been done before. If he said it, if he birthed it in your heart, who can ever be against? Even when you feel that your life is over, that the possibilities for you are slim to nil, don’t count yourself out, if God is for you, who can stand against you?

¿Qué pues, diremos a esto? Si Dios es por nosotros, ¿quién contra nosotros? Romanos 8:31
Pablo escribió a los Romanos, y en este capítulo puntualiza la forma de vivir en el espíritu. Hizo contrastes de su propia vida, afirmando que las aflicciones del tiempo presente no son comparables a la gloria por venir, las cuales se manifestarán a su debido tiempo. Un capítulo lleno de contrastes. Un recuento aleccionador de las situaciones verdaderas de la vida y de nuestra condición humana. Pero a pesar de ello, y a pesar de reconocer nuestros defectos y aflicciones, Pablo hace una declaración: ¿Quién puede estar contra nosotros?
Esto para mí es una expresión, con actitud. Si Dios es por nosotros ¿quién o qué puede estar contra nosotros? No hay nada que pueda impedirnos avanzar. No hay ninguna circunstancia que nos vaya a reducir la velocidad. Ni la enfermedad, ni la escasez, ni la tribulación, ni la angustia, ni el momento presente ni los tiempos por venir, ni lo alto ni lo profundo, ni ninguna otra cosa creada nos podrá separar de Dios. Nada nos impedirá el cumplimiento de nuestro destino.
¿Estás atascado? ¿Estás en una encrucijada? ¿Está tu propósito cuestionado y atacado? ¿Está tu sueño siendo ridiculizados por tus recursos? Ten por cierto hoy, que nada te detendrá si nuestro Dios es contigo. Él convirtió el agua en vino, se enfrentó a los escribas y fariseos, resucitó a Lázaro de los muertos, conquistó la enfermedad y abrió los ojos de los ciegos. Él conquistó la muerte, el pecado y el temor, así es que ¿quién en su sano juicio intentaría detenernos? Grítalo en voz alta, ¿QUIÉN?
En el libro de Salmos 8:5, hay una declaración que dice que fuimos creados un poco menor que Elohim. En esencia, un poco menor que Él. Elohim significa “el poder no calculado de Dios”. Así que ¿por qué hemos elegido vivir una vida menor? Si él nos ha creado a su imagen, ¿por qué habríamos de tener miedo a soñar en grande, atrevernos a hacer lo que Él ha dado a luz en nuestros corazones para hacer? El ir a lugares que nadie ha ido antes, hacer lo que no se ha hecho antes. Si él lo dijo, si él lo dio a luz en tu corazón, ¿quién puede estar en contra? Incluso cuando sientes que tu vida ha terminado, que las posibilidades son escasas o nulas, no te anules, si Dios es contigo, ¿quién estará contra ti?

Sansón había sido atado con dos cuerdas nuevas, después de haber tomado venganza por lo que los filisteos habían hecho. Habían matado a su suegro y a su esposa, aunque estos acontecimientos se desarrollaron después que Sansón había provocado esta represalia. Había quemado sus cosechas y aldeas. Caos creó más caos, inquietud más inquietud.
Para evitar una represalia mayor, fue llevado a los filisteos por su propio pueblo. La historia dice que después de que empezaron a gritar en señal de victoria, las cuerdas que le estaban amarrando, se hicieron como si nada. Usó una quijada fresca de un asno que vio en el camino y que estaba a su alcance y con ella mató a mil hombres. Un momento que parecía un fracaso seguro, se convirtió en un momento de gran victoria. Esta historia nos dice que todo lo que necesitas está a tu alcance.
Puede se que no estés enfrentando una situación como la de Sansón, que fue amarrado con cuerdas físicas y fue marchado a ser entregado a sus enemigos por su propia gente. Pero puede ser que estés atado con otras cuerdas. La depresión, la angustia, la escasez financiera, divorcio, enfermedad, un procedimiento legal, la traición de los tuyos, y muchas otras que podrían estar marchándote a lo que podría parecer un fracaso definitivo. Incluso puedes sentirte, que este caos y este malestar haya sido provocado o creado por ti. Aún cuando tu situación parece que no tiene salida, la palabra de Dios te recuerda hoy que lo que necesitas para ser libre, está a tu alcance.
Todo lo que necesitas para cumplir con tu destino está a su alcance. Él nos da la semilla para plantar o una idea para cosechar. Mira a tu alrededor con atención, ve con Sus ojos, y encontrarás esa quijada, esos recursos, esa idea, esa palabra de aliento que te propulsará a una nueva experiencia a una nueva temporada en tu vida. Lo que parece ser una situación peligrosa para tu vida, se convertirá en una experiencia que la cambiará, no sólo para ti sino para todos los que están observando. Este momento está hecho para cambiar tu ruta, para cambiar tu legado de una manera que ha de sorprender a tus enemigos y glorificar al Señor Todopoderoso. Lo que parece ser, una derrota segura, se convierte en una oportunidad. Oportunidad para dejar que Dios se glorifique y trabaje en y a través de ti.
Que bueno es tener un Dios que de lo poco y de lo que parece insignificante hace mucho mas abundantemente de lo que pedimos o entendemos. Usa todo lo que Él te ha dado, pero con Sus fuerzas, no con las tuyas. Derrotarás todas las probabilidades en tu contra y tu vida nunca será la misma, porque todo lo que necesitas está a tu alcance.

Samson had been tied up with two new ropes, after he had taken revenge over what the Philistines had done. They had killed his father in law and his wife, although these events unfolded after Samson himself had provoked this retaliation. He had burned their crops and villages. Chaos created more chaos, uneasiness more uneasiness.
To avoid a mayor retaliation he was taken over to the Philistines by his own people. The story says that after they started shouting in signal of victory, the ropes that were bounding him became like nothing. And he used a fresh jawbone of a donkey that he spotted on the road and was within his reach and with it killed a thousand men. A moment of certain failure, became a moment of great victory. This story tells us that everything that you need is within reach.
We may not be facing the situation as Samson was, he was bound by physical ropes and being marched to be handed over to his enemies by his own people. But you might be bound with many other ropes. Depression, anguish, financial lack, divorce, sickness, a legal proceeding, betrayal by your own and many others that might be marching you down to what might seem a definite failure. You might even feel, that this chaos and this uneasiness was provoked or created by you. Even when your situation appears that there is no way out, God’s word reminds today that what you need to be free, is within your reach.
Everything you need to fulfill your destiny is within reach. He gives us a seed to plant or an idea to harvest. Look around intently, see with His eyes, and you will find that jawbone, that resource, that idea, that encouraging word that will thrust you to a new experience, a new season in your life. What seems to be a life threatening situation, will become a life changing experience, not only for you but for all that are watching. This moment is made to change your path, to change your legacy in a way that will surprise your enemies and will glorify the Lord Almighty. What seems to be certain defeat, it becomes an opportunity. Opportunity to let God be glorified, and work in and through you.
How good is to have a God that uses what seems small and insignificant, much more abundantly than we ask or think. Use whatever he has given you, but use it with His strength, not yours. All odds against you will be defeated and your life will never be the same, because everything you need is within reach.
