And suddenly…

And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting; Acts 2:2

This word has been resounding in my spirit for quite some time. It is specially important to me since this portion of the scripture was the one that was read and studied the day my life was surrendered to Him, some twenty-five plus years ago (March 27, 1981). Suddenly, in an instant, without delay, right now, suddenly!

They were gathered in one accord when suddenly a rushing mighty wind came and filled everything. It permeated the place. There was no emptiness. It came announced by a sound from heaven, so everyone there would recognized that this sign was no ordinary one, it was certainly a supernatural experience.

When we are puzzled as to how, when, why things will happen, then God suddenly…Many men and women have experienced the suddenly’s of God. Moses was between the Red Sea and pharos army, surely a death trap, when suddenly the sea was parted and they walked thru dry land. Ruth a moabite in a land that was not her own, became the wife of an important man and part of Jesus genealogy, when suddenly Boaz sighted her. Joseph interpreted a dream and then suddenly became second in command right from the depths of the dungeons. David confronted Goliath only with a sling and five stones, when suddenly he defeated the giant. Mordecai, Esther’s uncle a jew in a foreign land was about to be killed by Aman’s hand, when suddenly the king ordered this same Aman to honor him in front of all of the people. Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-Nego were thrown into the fiery furnace, when suddenly a forth man like the Son of God, came and made them loose. Daniel was thrown into the lions den, when suddenly an angel came and closed their mouths. Peter had not caught nothing all night then Jesus told him to throw his nets on the other side and suddenly the one net he threw was so full that it was breaking. And the list goes on and on.

It stirs my spirit that we serve a powerful and mighty God that suddenly changes everything for His glory and sometimes we don’t realize it. So don’t be discouraged as what you see with your physical eyes, you serve the God that acts suddenly. He can change every circumstance in an instant. He has the authority, He has the power.

Remember, it will not be slowly, it will be SUDDENLY!

Y de repente…

Y de repente vino del cielo un estruendo como de un viento recio que soplaba, el cual llenó toda la casa donde estaban sentados; Hechos 2:2

Esta palabra ha estado resonando en mi espíritu desde hace bastante tiempo. Es especialmente importante para mí ya que esta porción de la escritura fue la que fue leída y estudiado el día que entregué mi vida a Él, hace unos veinticinco años o más (marzo 27, 1981). De repente, en un instante, sin demora, ahora mismo, de repente!

Ellos estaban reunidos en común acuerdo cuando de repente un viento recio que soplaba vino y llenó todo el lugar. Perneó todo el lugar. No había vacío. Llegó anunciado por un sonido del cielo, así que cada uno habría reconocido que este signo no era común y corriente, era sin duda una experiencia sobrenatural.

Cuando nos preguntamos en cuanto a ¿cómo?, ¿cuándo?, ¿por qué? las cosas van a suceder, de repente, Dios …Muchos hombres y mujeres han experimentado los de repente de Dios. Moisés estaba entre el Mar Rojo y el ejército de faraón, sin duda una trampa mortal, cuando de repente el mar se separó y ellos caminaron en tierra seca. Ruth una moabita en tierra que no era el suya, se convirtió en la esposa de un hombre importante y parte de la genealogía de Jesús, cuando de repente Booz la vio. José interpretó un sueño y de repente se convirtió en el segundo en mando directamente desde las mazmorras. David enfrentó a Goliat sólo con una honda y cinco piedras, cuando de repente derrotó al gigante. Mardoqueo el tío de Ester, un judío en una tierra extraña estaba a punto de ser asesinado por la mano de Aman, cuando de repente el rey ordenó a este mismo Aman que lo honrara frente a todo el pueblo. Sadrac, Mesac y Abed-nego fueron arrojados al horno de fuego, cuando de repente un cuarto hombre como el Hijo de Dios, vino y los soltó. Daniel fue arrojado al foso de los leones, cuando de repente un ángel vino y les cerró la boca. Pedro no había pescado nada durante toda la noche, cuando Jesús le dijo que tirara sus redes al otro lado y de repente la red estaba tan llena que se estaba rompiendo. Y la lista sigue y sigue.

Mi espíritu se emociona de saber que servimos a un Dios fuerte y poderoso, que de repente cambia todo para su gloria y a veces no nos damos cuenta. Así que no te descorazones por lo que ves con tus ojos físicos, sirves al Dios que actúa de repente. Él puede cambiar todas las circunstancias en un instante. Él tiene la autoridad, Él tiene el poder.

Recuerda, no será poco a poco, será ¡DE REPENTE!

I will restore the years

And I will restore or replace for you the years that the locust has eaten–the hopping locust, the stripping locust, and the crawling locust, My great army which I sent among you.” Joel 2:25 AMP

What a breathtaking thought! The mere possibility inspires me. The possibility to restore what has already been! You mean that I will make up, relive those years? You mean that there is a way to redo my life? A way to amend those relationships, those moments that marked my life in a way I did not desire?

Years that were taken by the ignorance, the unawareness of the times that were being lived. The time that was supposed to propel you into new heights, new levels, and now you feel stuck in the midst of your life. The most persisting thought that comes to heart is the sense of the years. That feeling that nothing can be done, because your time has passed. That paralyzing thought that controls you. The feeling of powerlessness, the silent voice saying, “I cant do anything, the years have passed and I have made many, many mistakes. Mistakes that have affected not only me, but those that are close to me too”.

But then, I read this verse in the book of Joel. “I will restore the years…” Wow!. What an amazing God we serve, that knows how we will be accusing ourselves. Not seeing how He sees us. We stop at the thought that “If I did it, I cant do anything about it” and we don’t give the fight. But you can. I am not ignoring the fact that consequences will follow our actions, be good or bad, but what I am saying is that in spite of those consequences, God can restore your years, He can restore your relationships, he can restore your marriage, he can restore your dignity, he can restore your family, and make up for the mistakes and decisions your have made, if you truly follow and obey him.

What a wonderful thought, and more importantly what a wonderful promise!, I will restore for you the years…

Y restituiré los años…

“Y os restituiré los años que comió la oruga, el saltón, el revoltón y la langosta, mi gran ejército que envié contra vosotros” Joel 2:25

¡Qué pensamiento impresionante! La mera posibilidad me inspira. ¡La posibilidad de restaurar lo que ya ha sido! ¿Pudiera decir que voy a poder rehacer, volver a vivir esos años? ¿Quiere decir que hay una manera de rehacer mi vida? ¿Una forma de modificar esas relaciones, esos momentos que marcaron mi vida de una manera que no deseaba?

Años que me fueron tomados por la ignorancia, el desconocimiento de los tiempos que estaba viviendo. El tiempo que se supone que te transportaran a nuevas alturas, nuevos niveles, y ahora te siente atrapado en medio de tu vida. El pensamiento más persistente que viene al corazón es el sentido de los años. Esa sensación de que nada se puede hacer, porque tu tiempo ha pasado. Ese pensamiento paralizante que te controla. El sentimiento de impotencia, la voz silenciosa diciendo: “No puedo hacer nada, los años han transcurrido y he cometido muchos, muchos errores. Errores que han afectado no sólo a mí, pero los que están cerca de mí también “.

Pero entonces, leo este versículo en el libro de Joel. “Voy a recuperar los años …” ¡Wow!. ¡Qué Dios increíble a quien servimos, que conoce la forma en que nos acusamos a nosotros mismos. No vemos cómo Él nos ve, con posibilidades. Nos detenemos en la idea de que “Si lo hice, no puedo hacer nada al respecto” y no damos la pelea. Pero tu puedes. No ignorando o diluyendo el hecho de que hay consecuencias que siguen nuestras acciones, sean buenas o malas, sino que a pesar de las consecuencias, Dios puede restaurar tus años, Él puede restaurar tus relaciones, Él puede restaurar el matrimonio, Él puede restaurar tu dignidad, Él puede restaurar tu familia, y subsanar los errores y las decisiones que has hecho, si realmente le sigues y le obedeces.

¡Qué pensamiento maravilloso, Dios es dueño del tiempo, y más importante aún, que promesa maravillosa!, Y restituiré los años …

This could be your story

How hopeful to know that Jacob from being a cheater and a liar, became part of the genealogy of Jesus! The Bible does not hide the fact that he had to toil much more in his life to attain the blessings that God gave him. He worked hard to get his promised wife and the fought with the Angel of God for a blessing, and won. He also created lifelong enemies with his brother until he was forgiven. For his ways he had also fallen into the trap of deceit, when Laban his father in law, cheated him giving him his other daughter and having to work more for the one he really loved. Hard days and hard situations which he had brought upon himself.

But this story instead of being sad, gives hope to all of us that have had a less than perfect past. You know, the moments in life when you have not been specially truthful, or when you have wronged someone knowingly and had fled leaving that person hurting. And what about deceit? We can go on and on with many of the mistakes and mishaps, be it small, medium, large or extra large ones, that have already passed but continue to accuse you today. It might have been years ago, and you still walk today having that mistake hanging around your neck like a sign that says, “I can’t, I did this or that in the past”. You are not perfect and you may have done many wrong deeds in your past. But there is hope, and there is a future. As Jacob went to know very well, redemption is something a man cannot do by himself, it has to come from God, and He is willing.

He is willing to make you new, to go deep in your heart and change everything. He is so willing that he already made a plan and executed it on your behalf. It is called Grace. It was performed by his son Jesus on the cross where He gave himself for you and for me so our sins would be forgiven and our lives would be redeemed. You have toiled enough to know that you have not gotten to far. It has been hard and every time you consider it, your past comes to haunt you again. But it doesn’t have to be that way, all the accusations, all the sins, all the mistakes, all the wrongs, and the past has been forgiven, by his Grace.

Jacob came to be part of the genealogy of Jesus, the Savior of the world. His name is forever branded in history, in spite of his past, as one of the great fathers of a nation, and his name was changed from Jacob, which means cheater, to Israel. All because he was redeemed and forgiven. This could also be your story if you choose to; to be forgiven, restored and redeemed. It is up to you, He has forgiven all our sins and restored all things by his sacrifice in the cross. He has plans for your life, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11

One thing I know about you and that is, that your future is breathtaking, because Jacob’s story of redemption, could be your story.

Esta podría ser tu historia

¡Cuán esperanzador es saber que Jacob pasó de ser un tramposo y un mentiroso, a formar parte de la genealogía de Jesús! La Biblia no oculta el hecho de que tuvo que trabajar mucho más en su vida para alcanzar las bendiciones que Dios le dio. Trabajó duro para conseguir su prometida esposa y luchó con el Ángel de Dios por una bendición, y ganó. También provocó enemistad a través de toda la vida con su hermano hasta que fue perdonado. Por su manera de ser cayó también en la trampa del engaño, cuando Labán, su suegro, le engañó dándole a su otra hija, teniendo que trabajar más por la que él realmente amaba. Fueron duros días y situaciones difíciles que provocó sobre sí mismo.

Pero esta historia en lugar de ser triste, nos da esperanza a todos nosotros que tenemos un pasado menos que perfecto. Tú sabes, los momentos en la vida cuando no fuiste verdaderamente honesto, o cuando hiciste mal a alguien a sabiendas y huiste dejando a la persona herida. Y ¿qué dices del engaño? Podemos seguir y seguir con muchas de las equivocaciones y desventuras, las pequeñas, medianas, grandes, o extra grandes , que ya han pasado, pero continúan acusándonos hoy. Pudo haber ocurrido hace años, y todavía hoy caminamos con ese error colgando alrededor de nuestro cuello como una señal que dice: “No puedo, hice esto o aquello en el pasado.” No eres perfecto, y es posible que hayas hecho muchos actos equivocados en el pasado. Pero hay esperanza, y hay un futuro. Como Jacob pudo conocer muy bien, la redención es algo que no se puede hacer por sí mismo, tiene que venir de Dios, y Él está dispuesto.

Él está dispuesto a hacerte nuevo, a profundizar en tu corazón y cambiarlo todo. Él está tan dispuesto que él ya hizo un plan y lo ejecutó en su nombre. Se llama Gracia. Lo realizó su hijo Jesús en la cruz donde se entregó por ti y por mí para que nuestros pecados fueran perdonados y nuestra vida pudiera ser redimida. Has trabajado lo suficiente para saber que no has llegado muy lejos. Ha sido duro y, cada vez que lo consideras, tu pasado trata de acosarte de nuevo. Pero no tiene por qué ser de esa manera, todas las acusaciones, todos los pecados, todas las equivocaciones, todos los males, y el pasado ha sido perdonados por su Gracia.

Jacob llegó a ser parte de la genealogía de Jesús, el Salvador del mundo. Su nombre quedó para siempre marcado en la historia, a pesar de su pasado, como uno de los grandes padres de una nación, y se le cambió su nombre de Jacob, que significa engañador, a Israel. Todo porque fue redimido y perdonado. Esta también podría ser tu historia si lo deseas; ser perdonado, restaurado y redimido. Depende ti, Él perdonó todos nuestros pecados y restauró todas las cosas por su sacrificio en la cruz. Él tiene planes para tu vida, “Porque yo sé muy bien los planes que tengo para ustedes —afirma el Señor,— planes de bienestar y no de calamidad, a fin de darles un futuro y una esperanza”. Jeremías 29:11.

Una cosa sé acerca de ti y es que tu futuro es impresionante, porque la historia de redención de Jacob, podría ser tu historia.
