He will rebuild the walls…

Then I said to them, “You see the distress that we are in, how Jerusalem lies waste, and its gates are burned with fire. Come and let us build the wall of Jerusalem, that we may no longer be a reproach.” Nehemiah 2:17

Nehemiah, the king’s cup-bearer went to Jerusalem, to rebuild it. The city was in shambles. The story describes that he scouted the ruins at night. He even walked through them, alone. He assessed the condition of the city and it’s walls. Then comes this verse, where he acknowledges where they stand and what they were going to do, “let us build the wall”.

Today when you look at your situation, at your life, you might feel not like Nehemiah, but like the walls of Jerusalem; in ruins, destroyed, forgotten and with no apparent hope. You might even feel that the gates of your soul are burned down, and no further protection exists for you. That because of all that you have been through and all the hurt that you have experienced, the walls will remain in ruins. What you see tells you, there is nothing else to do.

But God is telling you today, I will rebuild your walls and I will rebuild your life. As Nehemiah did and told everyone that was with him; yes, their condition was critical and vulnerable, but they would rebuild the walls. You might be in a very difficult plight, and everyone has discounted you already. What they don’t know is that the Master Builder is here. As Nehemiah did with the walls, God is here today, right now, wanting to rebuild your life. He restores your gates, putting new doors. He restores your walls building your heart brick by brick, telling you that no longer you will be reproached, shunned or forgotten because He loves you.

You will stand tall, you will stand strong, you will be a testimony of the artisan ability of the Creative God. Take heart, take hope, the Master Builder is here, He will rebuild the walls!

El reedificará los muros…

Entonces les dije: Vosotros veis la mala situación en que estamos, que Jerusalén está desolada y sus puertas quemadas a fuego. Venid, reedifiquemos la muralla de Jerusalén para que ya no seamos un oprobio.” Nehemías 2:17

Nehemías, el copero del rey, fue a Jerusalén para reconstruirla. La ciudad estaba en ruinas. La historia describe que luego de estar tres días allí, exploró las ruinas durante la noche. Incluso, caminó solo a través de ellas y evaluó el estado de la ciudad y sus murallas. Luego viene este versículo, en el que reconoce donde están y lo que van a hacer… “vamos a reconstruir el muro”.

Hoy, cuando te fijas en tu situación, en tu vida, puede que no te sientas como Nehemías, sino como los muros de Jerusalén; en ruinas, destruido, olvidado y sin esperanza aparente. Incluso, puedes sentir que las puertas de tu alma fueron quemadas y que no existe mayor protección para ti. Que debido a todo lo que has pasado y todo el dolor que has experimentado, los muros están en ruinas. Lo que ves te dice; no hay nada más que hacer.

Pero Dios te dice hoy, voy a reconstruir tus muros y voy a reconstruir tu vida. Como Nehemías hizo y dijo a todos los que estaban con él; sí, su condición era crítica y vulnerable, pero ellos reconstruirían los muros. Puede ser que estés en una situación muy difícil, y todo el mundo te podría haber descualificado. Lo que no saben es que el Maestro Constructor está aquí. Así como Nehemías hizo con los muros, Dios está aquí hoy, ahora mismo, y desea reconstruir tu vida. Él restaura tus puertas, poniendo puertas nuevas. Él restaura tus muros construyendo tu corazón ladrillo a ladrillo, y te dice que jamás volverás a sentirte, reprochado, rechazado u olvidado porque Él te ama.

Te levantarás en alto, te levantarás fuerte, serás un testimonio de la habilidad artesanal del Dios Creador. ¡Ánimo, ten esperanza, que el Maestro Constructor está aquí, Y Él reconstruirá los muros!

…porque una lluvia grande se oye.

Entonces Elías dijo a Acab: Sube, come y bebe; porque una lluvia grande se oye. 1 Reyes 18:41

¿Cómo es que Elías oyó el sonido de una lluvia abundante? Cielos despejados, sin nubes, sin señales, sin lluvia. ¿Estaba fuera de sí? No, pero Elías tenía la previsión de la lluvia que habría de venir.

Elías conocía la temporada en que estaba. Cuando estas conectado con Dios, buscas su presencia y permaneces obediente, tendrás la revelación de las temporadas. No las estaciones del año natural, sino de las espirituales. Sabrás cuándo salir y cuándo permanecer en tu lugar, cuándo hablar y cuándo callar, cuando a caminar y cuándo estar quieto. Independientemente de lo que todo el mundo ve, hace y dice tendrás una revelación de la temporada para tu vida y lo que debes hacer. Escuchará la voz que dice, ¡oye el sonido de la lluvia!

¿Lluvia? nos preguntamos, ¿en medio de esta tribulación?, ¿Lluvia? cuando mi cónyuge se ha ido?; ¿Lluvia? ¿cuando mis finanzas son un desastre?; ¿Lluvia? ¿cuando he llegado al final de mis recursos?; ¿Lluvia? ¿cuando no tengo dirección en mi vida?; Sí, el sonido de abundante llvia. Vendrá sin avisar, y cuando llegue caerá hasta sobreabundar. Hay tiempos en nuestras vidas que se caracterizan por la sequía. La falta de sentido y el deseo de mejores y brillantes días. No vemos que nada ocurre. Nuestra humanidad comienza a enseñorearse de nuestro espíritu para convencerlo de que estando todo tan seco, definitivamente se pondrá peor. Es una batalla entre lo que vemos y lo que no podemos ver. Es confuso, y nuestras emociones tratan de controlar nuestros pensamientos.

Pero Dios derramará lluvia sobre tu salud, sobre tus hijos, sobre tu tribulación, sobre tus relaciones, sobre tu trabajo, sobre tus finanzas, y cuando ocurra será como una inundación. Tendrás que correr, así que prepárate para Su lluvia.

¡Así es que, sube, come y bebe; porque una lluvia grande se oye!

…for there is the sound of abundance of rain.

Then Elijah said to Ahab, “Go up, eat and drink; for there is the sound of abundance of rain.” 1 Kings 18:41 NKJV

How is it that Elijah heard the sound of abundant rain? Clear skies, no clouds, no signs, no rain. Was he out of his mind? No, but Elijah had foresight of the rain to come.

Elijah knew the season he was in. When you are connected with God, you seek His presence and stay obedient, you will have the revelation of the seasons. Not the natural seasons, but the spiritual ones. You will know when to go out and when to stay in, when to talk and when to stay quiet, when to walk and when to stand still. Regardless of what everybody else sees, does and tells you, you will have a revelation of the season for your life and what to do. You will hear the voice that says, I hear the sound of rain!

Rain? We ask, in middle of this trial? Rain? When my spouse has left. Rain? When my finances are a mess. Rain? When I have come to the end of my resources? Rain? When I have no direction in life? Yes, the sound of abundance of rain. It will come without notice, and when it comes it will pour to overflow. There are seasons in our life that are characterized by the drought. The lack of meaning, the want of better and brighter days. We don’t see nothing happening. Our flesh starts to take over our spirit and begins to convince it that as dry as it seems, it will definitely get worse. It is a battle between what we can see and what we can’t. It is confusing, when our emotions take over and try to control our mindset.

But God will pour rain over your health, over your children, over your trial, over your relationships, over your work, over your finances, and when it happens it will be like a flood. You will have to run, so be prepared for His rain.

Therefore, go up, eat and drink; for there is the sound of abundance of rain!

Out of the cave

David also arose afterward, went out of the cave, and called out to Saul, saying, “My lord the king!” And when Saul looked behind him, David stooped with his face to the earth, and bowed down. 1 Samuel 24:8

David knew that his calling was to be the king of Israel. At the time he was running for his life along with the men that composed his army. Seeing that Saul was near, they decided to enter a cave and hide. Amazingly, Saul entered this cave alone to relieve himself without knowing that David and his men where there. What a spectacular moment in which David could coup the government, or as his men suggested, kill the king and fulfill his calling. Nevertheless, he restrained himself, and waited. After Saul exited the cave, David emerged behind him, and called him.

This story holds more substance that what is being considered here, but when one reads, David’s first instinct was to take cover and hide; he had actually refuged before in other caves before. He thought that being in the cave gave him the sense of security and it also provided with the opportunity to fulfill his call comfortably. So why he did not take advantage? What was the problem with that?

We all have situations in which we run into caves and hide. There are situations, in which in fact we have to look for a safe place to be and wait. But more often than not, we stay in the cave and don’t come out. We hide in our fears and remain in the dark, we hinder the opportunity of seeing God’s hand in our lives because we stay hidden. Sometimes we even try to fulfill our calling in the dark, not trusting God to do exceedingly and abundantly in our lives. David confronted his situation, out of the cave and in broad daylight.

It’s time to stop running, to stop hiding, to get out of that cave and to leave behind the past, the hurts, the scars and confront your fears in broad daylight. Humble yourself in His presence and then, and only then God’s calling for your life will come to pass. If God said it, it will come to pass, and it will not be hidden.

God is calling you today, out of the cave.

Afuera de la cueva

David también se levantó después, y saliendo de la cueva dió voces detrás de Saúl, diciendo: ¡Mi señor rey! Y cuando Saúl miró hacia trás, David inclinó su rostro en tierra, e hizo reverencia. 1 Samuel 24:8

David sabía que su llamado era a ser rey de Israel. Al momento, estaba corriendo por su vida, junto con los hombres que componían su ejército. Viendo que Saúl estaba cerca, decidieron entrar a una cueva y esconderse. Asombrosamente, Saúl entró a esa cueva para aliviarse, sin saber que David y sus hombres estaban allí. Que momento espectacular en la que David podría tomar el gobierno por la fuerza, o como sus hombres le sugerían, matar al rey y que el llamado se cumpliera. No obstante, se refrenó y esperó. Luego de que Saúl saliera de la cueva, David emergió detrás de él y lo llamó. 

Esta historia alberga más substancia de la que se considera aquí, pero cuando leemos, el instinto de David fue el buscar refugio y esconderse; el ya se había refugiado en otras cuevas anteriormente. Pensaba que estando en la cueva le daba un sentido de seguridad y también proveía la oportunidad de cumplir su llamado cómodamente. Entonces ¿Por qué no tomó ventaja? ¿Cuál era el problema?

Todos tenemos situaciones en las que corremos a la cueva a escondernos. Hay situaciones, en las que tenemos que buscar un lugar seguro donde estar, y esperar. Pero usualmente, nos quedamos en la cueva y no salimos. Nos escondemos en nuestros temores y nos quedamos a obscuras, tronchamos la oportunidad de ver la mano de Dios de manera abundante y extraordinaria en nuestras vidas. David confrontó su situación, fuera de la cueva a plena luz del día.

Es tiempo de parar de correr, de dejar de esconderse, de salir de esa cueva y dejar atrás el pasado, las heridas, las cicatrices y enfrentar tus temores a plena luz del día. Postrarte ante Su presencia y entonces, sólo entonces el llamado de Dios para tu vida vendrá a ser una realidad. Si Dios lo dijo, se cumplirá, y no se esconderá. 

Dios te está llamando hoy, afuera de la cueva.
