You have come for such a time like this

For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such time as this? Esther 4:14

Esther was an orphan, a captive in king Ahasueurs kingdom, raised by Mordecai as a daughter. When Vasti, the queen, didn’t want to come before the king, he decreed that another woman should take her place as queen. All virgins in the province were gathered, Esther was among them, a jew and she found favor in the eyes of all. Her preparation took a whole year, before she was selected by the king to be the new queen.

Haman which had lot’s of influence with the king, plotted and crafted a plan to destroy all of the jews since he hated Mordecai. His plan was made known to Esther by Mordecai and he reminded her that it might be that a time like this, she was risen to power.

Ever wonder why you are were you are now? Do you constantly long to be in a different place? Or do you wish you’d rather have someone else’s circumstances? We need to acknowledge that God has appointed us to the be were we are, to perform with excellence in this place. Be assured that this is your mission. God does not give you blessings just for the sake of it, He always has a plan, a greater plan. The place that you are in, is a place in which God will do great things, through you. You might not understand it right now, but at the appointed time, you will step up to the plate and be a blessing. We usually want to do things in our own time, but it might be that you are in the time of preparation right now. Learn, get prepared, the time is near.

Esther, came from being an orphan, a captive, to become the queen. She understood were and why she had what she had, and recognized that God himself had appointed and made her rise above all. She found favor, and favor violates every human perception. So, don’t look at where you are now, look at where God wants to take you.

Who knows, you may have come for such a time like this.

Has llegado para una hora como esta

Porque si callas absolutamente en este tiempo, respiro y liberación vendrá de alguna otra parte para los judíos; mas tú y la casa de tu padre pereceréis. ¿Y quién sabe si para esta hora has llegado al reino? Ester 4:14

Ester era una huérfana cautiva en el reino de rey Asuero y criada por Mardoqueo como su hija. Cuando Vasti, la reina, no se presentó delante del rey, éste decretó que otra mujer debería tomar su lugar como reina. Reunieron a todas las vírgenes en la provincia; Ester estaba entre ellas, una joven judía que halló favor a los ojos de todos. Su preparación tomó un año entero, antes de que el rey la seleccionara como reina.

Amán, quién tenía mucha influencia con el rey, trazó e hizo un plan para destruir a todos los judíos, puesto que odiaba a Mardoqueo. Mardoqueo dio a conocer a Ester el plan de Amán y le recordó que éste podía ser el tiempo para el cual ella había subido al poder.

¿Te has preguntado por qué estás donde estás ahora? ¿Deseas constantemente estar en un lugar diferente? ¿O deseas tener las circunstancias que tiene otro? Necesitamos reconocer que Dios nos ha designado a donde estamos, para que laboremos con excelencia en ese lugar. Ten por seguro que ésta es tu misión. Dios no te da bendiciones meramente por dártelas, Él tiene siempre un plan, un plan mayor. El lugar que te ha puesto, es un lugar en el cual Dios hará grandes cosas a través de ti. Puede ser que no lo entiendas ahora, pero en el tiempo designado, vendrá tu turno y serás de bendición. Nosotros usualmente deseamos hacer las cosas en nuestro tiempo, y puede ser que en este momento estés en la época de la preparación. Aprende, prepárate, el tiempo está cerca.

Ester, de huérfana y cautiva, se convirtió en reina. Ella entendió el porque tenía lo que tenía y estaba donde estaba, y reconoció además que Dios mismo la había designado y la había hecho subir por encima de todos. Ella encontró favor, y el favor viola toda opinión humana. Así es que no mires donde estás ahora, mira hacia donde Dios desea llevarte.

Quién sabe, puede ser que hayas llegado para una hora como esta.

Lirios del campo

…Considerad los lirios del campo,… Mateo 6:28

¿Existe alguna verdad práctica en este pasaje? Yo creo que sí.

Es tiempo de bajar la velocidad. Nos atrae mucho el lograr el éxito por encima de todo, que olvidamos una verdad muy sencilla – La vida consiste en como hacemos el viaje. Nuestro enfoque está en cuán rápido podemos lograr las cosas; posición, liderato, influencia. Nuestra atención y preocupaciones se centran en las situaciones temporeras en que vivimos. Hacemos todo el esfuerzo por “llegar allí primero”, de convertirnos en “lo más grande” a veces ignorando el precio y abandonando a todos en nuestro camino, usualmente a aquellos a quienes amamos más. La vida se ha convertido en la supervivencia del más fuerte.

¿Existe alguna verdad bíblica en este mensaje? Creo que Jesús nos estaba tratando de decir más de lo que vemos a veces. Él no solamente nos enseña a depender de Él, sino que también tomó tiempo para admirar los campos, las aves, todo alrededor. El comprendió que las cosas simples en la vida, frecuentemente son las más importantes.

Si el Creador de todo tuvo tiempo para descansar y admirar la creación, ¿que tal tú? Al finalizar cada día de la creación, El vio que todo era bueno. (Génesis 1).

Es tiempo de bajar la velocidad. Es tiempo de considerar los lirios en nuestro campo. Al hacer esto notaremos que nuestra perspectiva de la vida se aclarará. Que las promesas que Él tiene para nosotros en su Palabra, son verdad. Descubriremos el plan de Dios para nuestras vidas. Es tiempo de ir a caminar con tu hijo, de tener una conversación con tu hija, de darle la mano a tu padre, o sentarte y prestarle tus oídos a tu madre. Es tiempo de perdonar y olvidar. Es tiempo de amar y no reprochar. Es tiempo de hablar con tu Maestro. Es tiempo de ser realmente quién eres, sin reservas y disfrutar de todo lo que Dios te ha dado. El día de mañana está en Sus manos. Él ha prometido hacerse cargo de tu futuro. Y si Él está en control, ¿A qué le debes temer?

La vida consiste en como hacemos el viaje. Así es que, toma tiempo hoy para considerar, los lirios del campo.

Now you shall see!

And the Lord Said to Moses, “Has the LORD’s arm been shortened? Now you shall see whether what I say will happen to you or not.” Numbers 11:23

Moses had people complaining, lot’s of people. God had provided day after day for the children of Israel while in the desert, but know they wanted meat. They craved for the delicacies that they had in Egypt. They said: “but now our whole being is dried up; there is nothing at all except this manna before our eyes!” (v 6). They did not appreciate the provision God gave them which they had before them, right in their eyes! The complaining spread among the people like powder. Scripture says that Moses heard the people weeping at the door of their tents.(v 10) The situation was so intense that even Moses questioned God. The response: you will eat meat for a whole month!

How intense is your day? Is it so intense that you get frustrated and even question God’s purpose in your life and His might? If you are going through a desert in your life, it is easy to get discouraged, I know, I’ve been there. We might even question or doubt the very thing we affirmed the day before.

God is providing every day all of our needs and sometimes we don’t realize it. We neglect the miracle He is doing right now in our lives, even when we see it before our eyes! Trust His word, seek Him. His arm has not shortened, his might is strong. He is God Our Provider, The God that is more than enough, The Beginning and the End, the I AM.

The sun he created still shines down on us at 186,000 (thousand) miles per second, since the day He said, “let there be light”. So don’t get discouraged, press on, look up and you will see that what He said, will happen. Quails came flying towards them and they were fed and satisfied. Your blessing, your deliverance, will come to you. Your God, my God, has not become weak. His arm has not shortened! So today, open your eyes because now you shall see!

Ahora lo verás

El Señor le respondió a Moisés: “¿Acaso el poder del Señor es limitado? ¡Pues ahora verás si te cumplo o no mi palabra!” – Números 11:23

Moisés tenía personas quejándose, muchas personas. Dios había provisto día tras día al pueblo de Israel mientras estaban en el desierto, pero ahora querían comer carne. Ellos añoraban los manjares que tuvieron en Egipto. Dijeron: Pero ahora, tenemos reseca la garganta; ¡y no vemos nada que no sea este maná! (v 6). No agradecían la provisión que Dios les daba la cual tenían frente a ellos, ¡ante sus propios ojos! Las quejas se propagaron entre la gente como pólvora. La Escritura dice que Moisés oyó a la gente llorar a la puerta de sus tiendas. (v 10). La situación era tan intensa que incluso Moisés le cuestionó a Dios. Y su respuesta: Comerán carne por un mes entero”.

¿Cuán intenso es tu día? ¿Es tan intenso que te frustras y le cuestionas a Dios su propósito para tu vida, le cuestionas su poder? Si estás atravesando un desierto, es fácil desalentarse, lo sé pues he estado ahí. Puede ser que incluso cuestionemos o dudemos la misma cosa que afirmamos el día anterior.

Dios provee a diario para todas nuestras necesidades y a veces no nos damos cuenta. Nos descuidamos al no reconocer el milagro que Él está haciendo ahora en nuestras vidas, aún viéndolo delante de nuestros propios ojos. Confía en su Palabra, busca su rostro. Su brazo no se ha acortado, su poder es fuerte. Él es Dios Proveedor, el Dios que es más que suficiente, El Principio y el Fin, el YO SOY.

El sol todavía brilla sobre nosotros a 186,000 (mil) millas por segundo, desde el día que Él dijo, “hágase la luz”. Así es que no te desalientes, prosigue adelante, mira hacia arriba y verás que lo que Él dijo, sucederá. Las codornices vinieron volando hacia ellos y fueron alimentados y saciados. Tu bendición, tu liberación, vendrá a ti. Tu Dios, mi Dios, no se ha hecho débil. Su brazo no se ha acortado! Así es que hoy, abre los ojos porque ahora, lo verás!

Growing!

Jesus grew in wisdom and in stature and in favor with God and all the people. Luke 2:52

Jesus prompted a search for him after Joseph and Mary had left him behind in Jerusalem. He was only 12 years old. Three days he went missing until finally they found him in the temple, where he said those famous words, “But why did you need to search?” he asked. “Didn’t you know that I must be in my Father’s house?” Luke 2:49. After this nothing else is known about Jesus until he is 30 years of age. Eighteen years of silence, or where they?

A very successful and talented friend, which by the way has impacted thousands of people this year alone, told me that he was at a meeting where he saw some old acquaintances. When they greeted him they asked, “What have you been doing? It seems that we haven’t heard or seen anything from you lately. You have been silent”. My friend, very politely replied, “I have been doing a couple of things,” and he changed the subject knowing deep down inside that he has been fulfilling his purpose and his calling.

When we spoke about it, I reminded him about the “apparent” silent times in our lives, and how the perception of those around us will try to sidetrack and discourage us from our vision and our mission. I asked him, Do you know what happened between the years 2 to 12 and from 12 to 30 of Jesus life? These were silent years. Years where we know little or nothing about Him. In those silent years, Jesus grew.

You might be going through rough and unexplainable times. You might wonder if the problem or the issue is you. It might be, but it might also be that during these silent or quiet days, months and even years, God is helping you do one thing; to grow. Every process, every change is poised to make us grow and to let God do great and wonderful things in us. It might not be clear today, but you will see it in due time: You are growing.

Maybe we view these times as waisted because there is no exposure or busyness. But if we appreciate these years and we look intently, we will grow to our biggest potential and discover God’s work in us. We will be prepared for our assignment. Because all God’s work is handcrafted, never mass-produced.

So remember, when your are presented with discouragement or doubt, whisper to yourself, “It’s not stagnation, It’s growth!”.

¡Crecimiento!

Jesús siguió creciendo en sabiduría y estatura, y cada vez más gozaba del favor de Dios y de toda la gente. Lucas 2:52

Jesús había provocado una búsqueda por él después de que José y María lo había dejado en Jerusalén. Tenía sólo 12 años. Pasaron tres días, hasta que finalmente lo encontraron en el templo, donde dijo esas famosas palabras: “¿Por qué me buscabais? ¿No sabíais que en los negocios de mi Padre me es necesario estar?” Lucas 2:49. Después de esto nada más se sabe acerca de Jesús hasta que es de 30 años de edad. Dieciocho años de silencio, o ¿en realidad fueron así?

Un amigo muy exitoso y talentoso, que por cierto ha impactado a miles de personas este año, me mencionó que estaba en una reunión donde vio a algunos conocidos. Cuando lo saludaron le preguntaron: “¿Qué has estado haciendo? Parece que no hemos oído ni visto nada de ti últimamente. Has estado en silencio”. Mi amigo, muy amablemente respondió: “He estado haciendo un par cosas “, y cambió de tema sabiendo en el fondo que ha estado cumpliendo su propósito y su misión.

Cuando hablamos del asunto, le recordé de los “aparentes” tiempos de silencio en nuestras vidas, y cómo la percepción de quienes nos rodean tratan de desviar y desalentar nuestra visión y nuestra misión. Le pregunté, ¿Sabes lo que sucedió entre los años 2 al 12 y de 12 al 30 de la vida de Jesús? Estos fueron años de silencio. Años en los que sabemos poco o nada acerca de él. En esos años de silencio, Jesús creció.

Podrías estar pasando por momentos difíciles e inexplicables. Puedes estar preguntándote si el problema eres tu. Podría ser, pero también podría ser que durante estos días en silencio o calma, meses e incluso años, Dios te esté ayudando a hacer una cosa; crecer. Cada proceso, cada cambio tiene el potencial de hacernos crecer y dejar que Dios haga cosas grandes y maravillosas en nosotros. Puede que no este claro hoy, pero lo verás en su momento: Estás en crecimiento.

Tal vez podamos ver estos momentos como perdidos, porque no hay exposición o movimiento. Pero si apreciamos estos años y esperamos con atención, vamos a crecer a nuestro mayor potencial y descubriremos la obra de Dios en nosotros. Estaremos preparados para nuestra tarea. Porque el trabajo de Dios es hecho a mano, nunca en producción en masa.

Así que recuerda, cuando se presente el desaliento o la duda, susúrrate a ti mismo, “no es estancamiento es crecimiento!”.

What is written in your Staff?

Then he took his staff in his hand, chose five smooth stones from the stream, put them in the pouch of his shepherd’s bag and, with his sling in his hand, approached the Philistine. 1 Samuel 17:40

Ever wonder why David took his staff with him to fight Goliath? Why did he need a stick, when he was going to use the sling and the stones? Was he just keeping his options open? One would argue that he had thought, “If the rocks don’t work, I’ll use the staff”.

It is my understanding that the staff was not only a walking stick, but it was also used as a reminder of all of the wonders and blessings of God. You see, if there was no other place to write on, they carved on the staff. David, I can imagine, could had carved on his staff the day he killed the lion, the day he killed the bear while watching the flock. So David went running towards the giant, with all of the deliverance’s of God written in his staff and he was armed with all of God’s past blessings, as reminders of His power and deliverance that day.

There is a lot of power in our thoughts, so take time to write all of God’s blessings in your life. Carve your heart with His word and when the giant comes menacing, you will remember what He has done in the past and say, “You come to me with a sword, with spear, and with javelin. But I come to you in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. This day the Lord will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you and take your head from you” (v45-46) Don’t bring to memory failures. If He supplied in the past, He will continue to do so today. If He healed you in the past, He can certainly do it in the present and in the future.

So take your staff, pick up your stones, ready your sling, and run towards the giant! Great deliverance awaits to those that remember his blessings. I ask you this question: What is written in your Staff?
